A Pretty Good Band A concert and marching band of local area musicians that performs in community parades and musical events. Interested in joining? Contact Brenda McIntyre at 518-548-6330.   Friends of Lake Pleasant Library The purpose of the "Friends of the Town of Lake Pleasant Library Inc." shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries; to focus public attention on the library: to stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts and bequests to the library; and to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services, facilities and programs for the community. Meets second Tuesdays at 4 p.m. at the library.   Lake Pleasant Senior Citizens Group 2881 Route 8, Speculator Lake Pleasant Senior Citizens Group provides those age 60 and older with a forum to express their concerns and interests, promotes a more active role/voice in the community, and provides recreational and social activities. Membership is open to area residents, property owners, and merchants age 60 and older. Membership is granted after receipt of annual dues of $10 and approval by a majority vote of the board. Meetings are fourth Wednesdays at 7 p.m. NUTRITIONAL MEAL SITE  The group hosts an Office for the Aging Nutritional Meal Site; lunch is 12-1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (not legal holidays) for $3 for seniors and $4.80 for those under age 60; i.e., caretakers. Enjoy a hot meal and socialize a bit; call 518-924-4066 to order a meal for the next day. SHOPPING BUS  Through an OFA grant the group runs a shopping bus to area malls for those age 60 and over the third Wednesday of each month. To make reservations call Doris at 518-548-8808. Productions have included L. Frank Baum's "The Wizard of Oz," "The Sound of Music," "The King and I,” "The Music Man" (right), “Anne of Green Gables” and more.   Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club is based in the Hamilton County Town of Lake Pleasant, in the heart of  Hamilton County's more than 750 miles of groomed trails.  New York State corridor trails No. 4 and No. 8 pass directly through the community, offering easy access to Oxbow Lake, Arrietta and Piseco to the west, Indian Lake to the north, Wells to the South and Warren County to the east. Meets second Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse on Rt. 8 in Piseco.       Speculator Lions Club Comprised of men and women from Speculator, Lake Pleasant, Arietta, and Wells, this affiliate of Lions International has raised funds for worthy causes for over 50 years.  New members are welcome. Twigs A group of volunteers working to promote the welfare of Speculator Primary Care Center; Speculator, Piseco and Wells volunteer ambulance corps; paramedic “fly cars;” Oak Mt. Ski Patrol, hospice; and local students pursuing careers in the health field. Twigs has donated more than $380,000 over the past 20 years. Most of its revenues come from Twigs Treasure House at the corner of Rt. 8 and Page St. (opens the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend) and its annual Craft Fair. Goods at the Treasure House are both donated and paid for by donation. 2018 meetings are May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, and Sept. 12 all at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Pleasant Library. Lake Pleasant-Sacandaga Association

The general purpose of the Lake Pleasant - Sacandaga Association is to afford a representative voice in civic and community affairs of interest to the property owners and residents of the area.  Website: www.lpsa-ny.org     Adirondack Veterans Association Adirondack Veterans Association is located in the former VFW post approximately 5 miles west of “The Four Corners” in Speculator, on the north side of NYS Route 8. The organization is open to any United States citizen who is currently serving or has completed his/her contract period of service in any of the U.S. military services, including Reserves and National Guard. 518-548-7597   Hamilton County Amateur Radio Club The Hamilton County Amateur Radio Club was organized in May of 2002 to support the local repeater, provide emergency and public service communications, generate interest in amateur radio, and afford amateur radio operators and those interested in HAM radio as a hobby an opportunity to meet socially. There is a club repeater atop Oak Mountain, which allows amateur radio communications on the 2 meter amateur radio band. Communication is possible as far south as Northville and into Indian Lake to the north. Also, the club has a high frequency station at Lake Pleasant Fire Hall for long distance communications. Meetings are third Mondays starting at 7 p.m. at the fire hall. Hams and non-hams alike are welcome.
